Residents, Drivers of Kotwi to Bekwaame cry over deplorable road network

Residents and motorists in the Kotwi to Bekwaame area of the Atwima Kwanwoma District in the Ashanti Region have raised their concerns and called upon the government to urgently address the deteriorating state of the roads.

During interviews with Otec FM news reporter Simon Opoku Afriyie, drivers and residents expressed their dissatisfaction with the poor road network.

The roads in the Kotwi to Bekwaame area, according to the residents and motorists, are like “streams on dams” especially during the dry and rainy seasons.

The residents of Kotwi to Bekwaame in the Atwima Kwanwoma district of the Ashanti Region expressed their concerns about the detrimental impact of the bad roads on their daily lives.

They emphasized the various difficulties faced by vehicles, as well as the broader consequences for businesses and economic activities in the area.

The residents highlighted that this situation has increased travel time as the deteriorating state of the roads has led to slower and more challenging journeys, affecting commuters and causing frustration among motorists.

We have to always visit the mechanic anytime we use the road because our vehicles always breakdown and as a result, we sometimes do not want to use the road at all,” one driver stated.

The residents expressed disappointment regarding their Member of Parliament, Hon. Kofi Amankwaah Manu, who had made a pledge to address the road issue in their community.

They stated that despite the initial promise, they have not received any further communication or updates from him regarding the road construction.

The residents are making a heartfelt appeal to the Government to urgently address the deteriorating road network in their area. They emphasize that the poor road conditions have had a significant negative impact on their businesses over the years.
