Gladys Biney, the CEO of AIM Ghana Foundation, has emphasized the significance of preserving and honoring Ghanaian culture.
Speaking at the launch of the Sankofa Festival in Accra, she drew attention to a noticeable change in the behavior of the youth and urged them to reconnect with the values of the past.
Biney expressed her concern about the diminishing appreciation for cultural traditions among the younger generation and emphasized the importance of returning to these values.
She believes that embracing and upholding Ghanaian culture will not only preserve the country’s rich heritage but also provide a strong foundation for the youth to navigate their lives with purpose and pride.
Gladys Biney acknowledged that in the past, the youth held a deep respect for cultural norms and regulations, understanding the consequences of disregarding them. However, she expressed concern over the diminishing reverence and adherence to cultural values among today’s youth.
In addition, Gladys Biney highlighted the purpose of Sankofa Festivals Ghana during the event. She emphasized that the foundation aims to showcase the country’s vibrant culture by organizing festivals in every region of Ghana.
