Former Minister of Youth and Sports empowers needy students with financial support for tertiary education

Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima Mponua Constituency and former Minister of Youth and Sports, highlighted the crucial role of education in national development.

In line with this belief, he extended financial assistance totaling Gh 310,000 cedis (Old 310 Million old cedis) to support the education of 20 brilliant but financially disadvantaged students pursuing tertiary education.

Recognizing the financial burden faced by these students’ parents, Hon. Asiamah’s intervention aimed to alleviate their hardships. By providing financial support, he sought to ensure that these talented individuals can access quality education and contribute to Ghana’s progress.

Hon. Asiamah emphasized the significance of education as a catalyst for development, asserting that no nation can thrive without investing in educational opportunities.

Through his generous initiative, he aimed to empower the students and pave the way for their future success while lightening the financial load carried by their families.

Since 2004, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima Mponua Constituency and former Minister of Youth and Sports, has been providing ongoing support to students, recognizing the vital role education plays in national development.

He commended the efforts of the NPP government, particularly the historic implementation of free Senior High School (SHS) education and scholarship assistance programs for needy students.

Hon. Isaac Kofi Marfo, the District Chief Executive of Atwima Mponua District Assembly, extended his heartfelt appreciation to Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah and the NPP government for their unwavering support.

He acknowledged that the support provided by Hon. Asiamah and the government would significantly alleviate the burden on parents and positively shape the lives of the beneficiaries, ultimately benefiting the Atwima Mponua community as a whole.

Recognizing the importance of education in transforming lives, Hon. Marfo emphasized that the financial assistance from Hon. Asiamah and the government would go a long way in ensuring that deserving students have the opportunity to pursue their education without the heavy financial burden on their parents. Hon. Marfo also acknowledged the NPP government’s commitment to education, particularly through the implementation of the historic Free SHS policy. He expressed his gratitude for the government’s efforts in making education more accessible to all, emphasizing the long-term benefits it would bring to the district and beyond.

Madam Ama Adwubi Asafo Agyei, the Atwima Mponua District Education Director, along with several beneficiary students, expressed their profound appreciation to Hon.
