Management of Ghana Water Limited (GWL), Ashanti Production Region, has declared that customers within Abuakwa District of the current shut down of the Owabi Treatment Plant due to technical challenges that occurred in the early morning of Sunday, 18th June 2023.

This was made in a statement which was released today, June 18, 2023.

The notice stated that the “Engineers of GWL are working assiduously to resolve the challenge and resume operations to serve its cherished customers with potable drinking water.”

“Areas to be affected include Asuoyeboah, Tanoso, Apatrapa, Pokukrom,Bobankye, Nyankyereniase, Esaase, Akropong, Ntensere, Mfensi, Koforidua, Manhyia, Maakro, Agogo, Twedie, Nkawie, Mim, Toase,Afari, Wioso, Abuakwa, and its environs,” the notice added.
