Nana Owusu Gyare II, the Akwamuhene and Acting President of the Techiman Traditional Council, expressed gratitude to His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of Ghana, on behalf of Oseadeyor Akumfi Ameyaw IV, the Omanhene of Techiman, and the people of Bono East.
They thanked the President for the creation of the Bono East Region, which has brought about significant development projects in the area.
Nana Owusu Gyare highlighted that the creation of the Bono East Region has significantly reduced the long distances that Nananom (traditional leaders) and the people of Bono East had to travel to access certain services in the former Brong Ahafo capital.
With the establishment of the new region, various agencies and departments have decentralized their services, bringing them closer to the people. Nana Owusu Gyare expressed joy in witnessing the implementation of developmental projects that were instrumental in the formation of the Bono East Region, emphasizing the positive impact they have had on the region’s growth and progress.
Nana Owusu Gyare shared this information during a brief yet vibrant ceremony held this afternoon to inaugurate the newly constructed state-of-the-art Bono East Regional office complex for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
The magnificent building is situated on the Techiman-Nkoranza road, near Forikrom, and stands as a remarkable architectural structure.
Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), expressed his commendation for the dedication and hard work of the seven (7) offices of the NHIA in the Bono Region.
He acknowledged their consistent efforts, which have contributed to the region’s position as the leading health insurance scheme in the country. Their commitment to providing quality healthcare services to the people of the Bono Region has been instrumental in achieving this recognition.
During the ceremony, Hon. Kwasi Adu Gyan, the Bono East Regional Minister, served as the Guest of Honour. He was joined by Municipal and District Chief Executives from Techiman North and South, Nkoranza North and South, and Kintampo North and South.
In his address, the Minister pledged the continuous support of the Regional Coordinating Council to the NHIA. He emphasized that the government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) holds the National Health Insurance scheme in high regard, considering it as a policy of great importance to the well-being of the people.
According to him, the Regional Coordinating Council is committed to working hand in hand with the NHIA to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare services to meet the health needs of the people in the region.
