Ntowkrom Chiefs and residents urgently appeal for government intervention in deteriorating school block

The chiefs and residents of Ntowkrom in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region have appealed to the government to address the deteriorating condition of their school block, which has reached an extremely poor state.

As per the Nantehene of Ntowkrom, Ajintery Moro, the community is abundantly blessed with vast stretches of untouched land, making it relatively effortless to find suitable land within the vicinity.

The Chief emphasized that the deteriorating condition of the school has created significant challenges for both teachers and students, severely impacting the teaching and learning process.

He, therefore, appeals to the government to lend their support and collaborate in creating a favorable learning environment for these children.

According to Ajintery Moro, the current state of the school block poses a serious threat and induces anxiety among parents, particularly during rainfall. The presence of cracks in the pillars and the overall weakened structure of the building increases the risk of a potential collapse at any moment.

Assemblyman of Ntowkrom, Hon. Emmanuel Nartey further added that despite writing letters to the District Assembly and other relevant authorities, their pleas and appeals have not been adequately addressed.

He expressed that despite the students’ remarkable intelligence and proficiency in English, they are compelled to study in an extremely dilapidated school.

In light of this, Hon. Emmanuel Nartey earnestly appeals to various NGOs, stakeholders, and the government to extend their support and create a conducive learning environment for these children and to help facilitate smooth teaching and learning processes within the community.
