Executive Member of Coalition of Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) on the Rights of the Child (GNCRC) who doubles as the Country Director of International Child Development Program, Madam Joyce Laryoh has advised parents and guidance to ensure the sustainability of their children and stop focusing on unimportant things and occasions.
Speaking at the commemoration of World Day Against Child Labour 2023 at Ntowkrom in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region under the theme, “Intensify Action Against Child Labour: Do It Fast, Do It Now,” Madam Joyce Laryoh pointed out that it is time for the country to recognize as the most important but vulnerable part of the society.
According to her, it is important for parents to see to it that their children are well taken care of and granted all their fundamental rights such as the right to education, healthcare, amongst others.
She added that times are changing and so as the minds of children since they know what the basic things a parent is supposed to give hence, it is time for parents to stop burdening their children with loads of hazardous work without caring for their wellbeing.
Madam Joyce Laryoh also pledged her commitment to ensuring that all cases of child labour are reduced in the country.
She is, therefore, advising all parents to take proper care of their children and stop focusing on unnecessary occasions and things because children are more important.
