The Chief of Manso Adubia Traditional Council, Nana Doku Appiah Danquah II has called on the people of this country on the need to get involved in this year’s Green Ghana Project.
According to him, our forest is our health and in order to live long on earth and as such, there is a need to renew our minds to transform our lives.
Speaking at the short ceremony of Green Ghana Project at Manso Kensere in the Amansie South District, Nana Doku Appiah Danquah II stated that it is quite unfortunate for us to destroy our lands and forests due to illegal mining activities.
“God in his own wisdom knew the importance of trees but what are we seeing today? Let us all get involved in the Green Ghana Project initiated by the president and use it to transform our lives,” he added.
Nana Doku Appiah Danquah used the opportunity to appeal to the District Assembly to try as much as possible to reclaim all the lands that have been destroy by galamsey operators through this Green Ghana Project.
On his part, the District Chief Executive of Amansie South District, Hon. Clement Opoku Gyamfi (CID) added trees are very important in human life since they serve as oxygen for the body so, we must all encourage ourselves to plant trees for our lives.
“I’m very excited to plant trees with school children in our area and this is a clear indication that as a district, we have a good future since the children are the future of the land,” he said.
He added that it is the mission of the assembly to ensure that all the major roads in the district are fixed and in order to maintain their good shape, there is a need to plant trees along the roads to make them look attractive.
