Let’s take advantage of Greening Ghana Project to plant trees around schools to prevent encroachment

Forestry Commission of Ghana, under the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources celebrated 3 years of Greening Ghana Project nationwide aiming to plant more trees to safeguard our environment, forest reserves, and water bodies.

The District Chief Executive of Atwima Mponua Assembly, who is also in charge of monitoring and inspection of the trees done over years at Nyinahin, Hon. Isaac Kofi Marfo stated that the involvements have been very encouraging over the years.

The DCE appealed to the Assembly to team up with the Nkawie Forestry Division and Education services and take advantage of Greening Ghana Project by planting trees around school to prevent encroachment and serve as a fence wall to boost climate and enhance serene environment.

Hon. Isaac Kofi Marfo thanked the government and Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources for the initiative and encouraged the public to be active participators in order to accomplish the government initiatives.

He also hailed the Nkawie District Forest Services Division for adjudging as the best District of Greening Ghana Project 2022 and urged them to do more this year.

The District Manager of Nkawie District Forest Services Division, Mr. Nifasoyor Chrisantus also added that this year’s target is to plant 400,000 trees thus, they are working assiduously to do more since their award in 2022 have motivated them and encouraged the public to be more active due to the huge investment made by the government.
