The Pensioner Bondholders Forum has planned to file a petition to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) prior to government’s refusal to pay the interest on their money.
Convener for the Pensioner Bondholders Forum, Dr. Adu Anane Antwi stated that government made them aware that there will be no payment of interests on the principal amount during a meeting.
Due to this decision made by the government, the Forum has also decided to hand over the case to CHRAJ so the government knows that every bondholder in Ghana has a right.
“We will need an arbiter, so we have suggested that we will submit the matter to CHRAJ for CHRAJ to tell us whether we have the right to do that or not,” he emphasized.
He also added that if the principal amount has not been settles, there is a need to pay its interest.
