Organizer for the Ahafo Region of the UN Association of Ghana, who is also a member of Chartered Institute of Peace and Governance, USA, Yahaya Aliscopii has urged the public to take good care of the environment so that their health can be sustained.
According to him, the environment is an essential factor which contributes significantly to the wellbeing of humans, and if destroyed, humans will suffer.
He stated that various illegal activities such as illegal mining (galamsey) and noise pollution are degrading the environment.
Illegal mining, according to him, has polluted most water bodies across the country and has rendered them unsafe for both industrial and domestic purposes.
Hon. Yahaya Aliscopii is, therefore, calling on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), government, chiefs, and other environmental agencies to enforce all environmental protection laws in order to see to the protection of the forests, water bodies, and the lands in the country.
