C/R:OVER 150 LAND GUARDS OPEN GUNS ON FARMERS,GRADES CROPS AT GOMOA OKYEREKO

Over 150 land guards have invaded Gomoa Okyereko community, firing live bullets, and chasing farmers with guns amidst grading their lands and crops in the aim of selling the lands.

Gomoa Okyereko is a farming community with a population of over 2,000 in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

Some of the residents accused some opinion leaders and politicians from Effutu for using these land guards as baits to forcefully take over their lands without any court ruling.

Speaking to Otech F, some of the residents stated that several complaints have been made to the Dominase District Police Command, Central East Regional Police Command, DCE Solomon Darko Quarm yet, nothing has been done about it.

They are calling on the IGP and the authorities to act fast else they will mobilize themselves and fight.

Meanwhile the Chief of Gomoa Okyereko, Nana Kofi Donkor revealed that, these land guards have graded over 200 acres of land and have cropped on all of them.

Nana Donkor says it is disheartening that this government claims they have passed anti-land guard laws yet, some Politicians in the NPP government from Winneba are using land guards to terrorize them.
