Akufo-Addo has messed up the economy-Ekumfi Abiram Paramount Chief busts

The Odikro of Ekumfi Abiram, who doubles as the Paramount Chief of Ekumfi Traditional Council, Odefour Akyin has lambasted Nana Akufo-Addo-led government for messing up the Ghanaian economy.

According to the Paramount Chief, most Ghanaians including the chiefs are suffering under the leadership of Nana Akufo-Addo.

He lamented that this government has messed up the economy due to the negligence of Ghanaian chiefs.

He said that the government has neglected the chiefs in the management of the economy hence, causing the country into the ditch.

According to him, the involvement of chiefs of various communities in the financial sector of the country will help stabilize the economy.

The Paramount Chief also criticized the government for being behind the menace of illegal mining activities in the country.

He blamed the government for not enforcing the laws on galamsey activities since they are the same people behind this act.

“How can the government give license to people for mining and later tell we, the innocent chiefs to stop them from mining on the lands? It is never possible,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Former Managing Director of Bulk Oil Storage Transportation Company Limited (BOST), Kwame Awuah Darko, also said that the next National Democratic Congress (NDC)  government will seek to it that chiefs are being included in the governing of the country.

He stressed that the negligence of chiefs by the government has contributed to economic instability.

Speaking in an interview with Otech FM, the Chief of Ekumfi Abor, Nana Amoasu VII, during the Launching of Nana Amoasi Charity Foundation promised to ensure that poverty rate in the Ekumfi District is eradicated.

He noted that, Ekumfi District is having all the resources to make it rich but the district lacks skilled personals thus, his foundation will address all these challenges.
