Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has voiced that he is disappointed over the recent clashes between the Gonja and the Mamprusi Communities.
In a Facebook post by John Mahama, he underlined that there is a need to address this issue urgently so that peace and harmony can be restored between these two fractions.
“We must endeavour to co-exist peacefully and deploy non-violent means to resolve disputes instead of resorting to arms at the slightest provocation. The issues that unite us must surpass those that divide us,” he stated.
He urged the people of Soo and Wasipe to come together and solve this conflict.
The clash between the Gonja and Mamprusi is the result of the disagreements between the two fractions over traditional jurisdictional matters.
This conflict has resulted in the loss of lives and has destroyed properties.
