Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has today, Thursday, 1st June 2023 picked a nomination form to contest the NPP flagbearer race.

The Campaign Manager who led the delegation to pick the forms on behalf of Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Mr. Kwame Owusu assured Ghanaians that he is going to win and lead the party to break the eight.

According to him, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong believes that certain principles such as honesty, discipline, and patriotism, amongst others, must be held high in esteem in Ghana, and he, if elected as the flagbearer of the NPP will continue to do so even though he has been practicing them.

“He is coming to save the country and move the country in the right direction,” he said.

He stated the main aim of Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agypong is to ensure that “people own Ghana” since he is the only businessman who has created a lot of job opportunities in Ghana.

Mr. Kwame Owusu emphasized that Ghana needs a candidate who is experienced and patriotic and Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong is much more and for that matter, he is the only one who can help the party to break the eight.

However, since Friday, May 26, 2023, after nominations were opened for those who aspire to be the presidential candidate for the NPP, 10 persons have so far picked their nomination forms.

They include Vice President, Dr, Mahamudu Bawumia; a former Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko; a former General Secretary of the party, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong; a former MP for Mampong, Francis Addai-Nimoh; a former Agriculture Minister, Dr. Owusu Afryie Akoto; Energy Analyst, Kwadwo Poku; Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, amongst others.

The NPP will elect its flagbearer for the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections in November and so far, 10 aspirants have declared their intention to contest for the position.
