President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo says going to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was not part of the economic transformation agenda he has been seeking especially in his government.
He made this statement on Sunday, May 29, 2023, during his Address to the Nation.
President Akufo-Addo pointed out that running to the IMF was a “painful decision for him because his government had gone the extra to bring a successful end.”
“I have no doubts at all in mind that we are on the right path and we will soon start to see significant improvements in the economy and the living standards of Ghanaians,” he said.
He also assured Ghanaians that Ghana will overcome its present economic difficulties.
