President Hopeful for the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Akoto has declared that agriculture is the only way to make the economy better yet, there are few resources allocated to improve the sector.
Speaking at the party headquarters today after he picked his nomination form as one of the aspirants for the presidential position, he indicated that agriculture has been the number source of foreign exchange in Ghana.
“Ghana started oil production in Kufour’s time but it has not been able to take us out of our situation,” he emphasized.
According to him, the only sector which can stabilize the economic situation of Ghana is the agriculture sector since he has been one of the biggest witnesses was he had managed the sector for six years.
“It is the only one with results that will be able to generate foreign exchange; to finance our industrialization, our health, our education, our infrastructure, and our whole development,” he added.
Dr. Akoto pointed out that it is high time to prioritize the financing of agriculture with public resources to be able to realize this huge potential it brings,” Dr. Akoto said.
He, however, used the opportunity to thank all his supporters and campaign team for their support and love and he assured them that he will work hard to become the next president of the Republic of Ghana.
