Agbogba Electoral Area Landlords, Residents’ Association in Agbogba has lamented about the lack of a police station in the district as it has become the reason why the crime rate in the district has become high.
According to the Chairman of the Association, Mr. Awuku Darko, the absence of a police station in the district is a very big problem since they are unable to report crime issues in their district and have to report cases in other districts, which is very tiring.
They indicated that various petitions have been sent to the District Assembly but as for now, they have not seen any action taken to resolve this issue.
The residents emphasized that the neglect of authorities would not prevent them from taking the course hence, they have come together to construct a modern police station for their community.
The Chairman of the Association, Mr. Kwaku Awuku Darko also pointed out that the district is challenged with poor infrastructure as there have been any sort of infrastructure projects done in the district over the last 40 years.
He emphasized that the poor state of roads and the lack of street lights have increased the rate of crime in the district.
The Municipal Chief Executive of the Ga East Municipality, Hon. Elizabeth Kaakie Mann also pledged her support to the Association in the course of her action.
Her representative, Okunyin Boaz spoke on her behalf.
