The law will deal with any driver who refuses to comply with the directive- Northern Region PRO of GRTCC

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council (GTRCC) in the Norther Sector, Daniel Twumasi is asking all drivers too comply with the 10 percent fair reduction across the country.

Public transport fares are to go down by 10 percent, effective today, Wednesday, May 17, 2023.

Road Transport Operators attributed the reduction to consistent marginal reductions in the price of fuel and this reduction covers shared taxis, intra-city (trotro), intercity (long distance), and haulage.

This announcement  has not gone down well with some drivers as they say they will not reduce the fare, and the Concerned and True Drivers Unions are against this initiative.

They claim prices of oil, spare parts, booking fees, and daily sales have not gone down so there is no need to reduce fares.

Mr. Daniel Twumasi says the driver have no option than to comply with the directive and reduce the fares by 10 percent.

He says the law will deal with any driver who refuses to comply with the directive.
