A High Court has ruled that investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas will testify against former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kwesi Nyantakyi in open court, wearing his usual mask but will have to reveal himself to Nyantakyi first.
Mr. Nyantakyi will, however, have the opportunity to see his face in chambers before appearing in court to give his testimony.
This ruling was delivered by the court following an appeal by the lawyers for Nyantakyi asking the court to grant them an opportunity to see the real face of Anas Aremeyaw Anas on camera before appearing in court.
This is about the unlawful trial of the former football administrator which resulted from the Number 12 documentary which exposed corruption in Ghana football.
This ruling, according to the court is in the interest of justice where the liberty of a citizen is at stake, and as such, a person is given the needed grounds to defend themselves.
The ruling noted that Anas is a principal witness of the case and that his identity is crucial to give the chance to Nyantakyi to identify himself and be able to defend himself in court.
