Deputy Minister of Communications and Digitalization, Ama Pomaa Boateng has stated that the government is committed to investing in ICT infrastructure to ensure universal connectivity.
Speaking at the commemoration of the World Telecommunications and Information Society Day 2023, she said that to bring connectivity to the doorstep of every citizen, the Ministry through the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications is implementing the Rural Telephony and Digital Inclusion Project which is dedicated to providing a voice and data service to serve communities in the country.
The National Communications Authority (NCA) joined the rest of the world in commemorating this year’s World Telecommunications and Information Society Day (WTISD).
The theme for this year’s commemoration is “Public-Private Partnership to Improve Connectivity.”
The day is observed annually on May 17 and this year’s event took place at the NCA Tower in Accra.
The Deputy Minister who doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Juaben added that there is a need for more investments to ensure that everyone has access to ICT tools.
