Three people have been confirmed dead, leaving four people injured in a car accident at Akorabuokrom in the Ashanti Region.

The accident which involved a tipper truck with registration number GT-8425-12, run into a fitting shop killing three apprentices out of seven.

According to an eye witness, a timber truck was traveling from Bibiani to Kumasi but lost control of its wheels after he sped up, leading the car to run into the fitting shop, killing three apprentices on the spot and four of them with severe injuries.

The injured persons were rushed to Nyinahin Government Hospital but were subsequently referred to Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment.

The Nyinahin Police Command has arrested the driver to assist in further investigation.
