Ghana Baptist Convention has reinforced its stance against lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders, and queers (LGBTQ+) activities in the country.
According to the President of the convention, Rev Dr. Charles Owusu Ampofo, the church continues to support the Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill that seeks to criminalize such activities.
Rev. Dr. Charles Owusu Ampofo stated that apart from the Holy Bible that opposes this evil act, the country’s traditions and customs also frown on it, hence, the church supports other religious bodies who are championing criminalizing the act.
He insisted that same-sex marriage is not a proper human right so a section of citizens who want to endorse it with such a mentality should have second thoughts.
President of the Ghana Baptist Convention, Rev. Dr. Charles Owusu Ampofo made these remarks during the Church’s 60th Annual Ministers Conference at the Baptist Retreat Center at Ejura.
The conference brought together all Reverend Ministers of Baptist churches in the country for a refresher course to help equip their pastors for the growth of the church.
