The National Democratic Congress (NDC) to petition the Special Prosecutor (SP), Inspector General of Police IGP, and Speaker of Parliament over NPP bigwigs involved in Galamsey, following Professor Frimpong Boateng’s Report.
They have also called for an investigation into allegations of involvement in illegal mining (galamsey) made against high-ranking members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking at a press conference today at the party’s headquarters in Accra, the NDC National Communication Officers Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi declared that the NDC will formally submit a request to both the Parliament and the office of the Special Prosecutor to initiate the necessary investigations into the gold mafia documentary as it relates to Ghana and the Galamsey Report of Professor Frimpong Boateng.
He added that Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, a former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, claimed he was ousted to make way for NPP bigwigs to continue their galamsey activities.
He said the party will ensure that the petition will be followed and investigated so the Ministers and Frimpong-Boateng will be questioned regarding this disheartening issue.
