The Ga Traditional Council has announced the arrangement and preparations for this year’s Homowo festival.
The King of the Ga State, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, and his elders have placed a ban on noise-making across the Ga State.
The ban starts on May 15, 2023, and is expected to be lifted on June 15, 2023.
The Chiefs expect that churches, mosques, restaurants, nights clubs, street evangelism, funeral rights, and any object of noise-making are banned.
Addressing the media and the elders of the Ga state, the Public Relations Officer of the Palace, Nii Abossey Asikogya I, charged all citizens and residents of the Ga land to observe this annual ritual of noise-making.
The PRO of the Ga Traditional Council, Nii Abossey Asikogya I, again said a task force in collaboration with the Regional Security Council will be deployed to ensure that people observe this rite of the Ga state.
He, therefore, appealed to the citizens of the Ga State to comply with the month-long drumming and noise-making and refrain from making derogatory comments about the Ga Tradition as such offenders would be dealt with accordingly.
