The Chief of Kotokuom, Nana Osei Kwame I has petitioned the Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima Mponua Constituency, Hon. Isaac Asiamah, and other stakeholders to fix a dilapidated bridge to avoid any disaster.
According to him, the Kotokuom Bridge is a death trap since there has not been any form of renovation ever since it was last built.
Kotokuom is a farming community near Nyinahin in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region and this bridge was built over 50 years ago under the River Offin, which links over 20 communities to Asuakuow in the Ahafo Ano South West District.
Nana Osei Kwame I with other opinion leaders are therefore, petitioning the MP for Atwima Mponua Constituency, Hon Isaac Kwame Asiamah, and the DCE for the district, Hon. Isaac Kofi Marfo, as a matter of urgency to fix the bridge to avoid any unforeseen disaster.
He made this known after he, together with the Assembly and the media visited the area after a heavy downpour of rains divided the roads into two.
The DCE for Atwima Mponua District Assembly, Hon Isaac Kofi Marfo assured his folks of fixing the bridge as the road.
He stated that so far as the government has ensured that most of the roads in the community are tarred, the bridge will also be addressed soon.
