Former President, John Dramani Mahama has cautioned the Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum not to close down any school in the country.

According to him, the highest obligation of the minister is to help students to attain better results and not shut their schools down.

Mr. Mahama hence cautioned the minister to step down if he still intends to close down schools instead of providing solutions to the country’s educational problems.

Dr. Yaw Adutwum challenged the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) and Principals of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions to enhance their educational outputs or stand the risk of having their institutions closed down.

Addressing branch executives of NDC earlier on Sunday, March 19, at Adudwama in the Ahafo Ano South East Constituency, former President Mahama declared that the Minister does not have the legitimate power to close down schools.
