Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia says President Akufo-Addo lied to Ghanaians during the State of the Nation Address.

According to him, the president failed to tell the truth about the current economic state of the country.

In his address themed ‘The True State of The Nation Address’ at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, UPSA, Johnson Asiedu Nketia mentioned that the president’s unending blame on the Covid pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war for being the justifications for the economic situation of Ghana portrays his failure to better the lives of Ghanaians.

He stressed that before the Covid pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war began, the country was already in its worst state.

He also said countries around Ghana have all been doing well economically despite also being hit with Covid and Russia-Ukraine war hence, his excuse is unjustifiable and clearly shows that he mismanaged Ghana’s finances.
