Russia-Ukraine war cannot be overlooked; it is the major cause of Ghana’s economic breakdown- Tano South MP

The Member of Parliament for Tano North, Madam Freda Prempeh says the Russia-Ukraine war is one of the primary causes of the economic struggles Ghana is facing hence, it cannot be overlooked.

According to her, Ghanaians are presently going through economic hardship since the prices of goods and services have been shooting up each day and as such, are making life difficult for most Ghanaians.

She stated that the President has been criticized for taking advantage of the Russia-Ukraine war and consistently blaming it for the economic crisis in the country.

Disputing the just presented State of the Nation’s Address by President Akufo-Addo, the Member of Parliament for Tano North, Madam Freda Prempeh says the war and the COVID outbreak cannot be overlooked because they are the causes of the current situation the country is facing.

However, the ranking member on the Defense and Interior Committee of Parliament who doubles as the MP for Bulsa North MP, James Agalga accused the president of consciously failing to tell Ghanaians the state of security in the country.

According to him, the president failed to mention the state of the Bawku conflict, which is also another serious issue happening in the country.

He made these statements when he contributed to the debates on the State of the Nation’s Address by the president.

He expressed his disappointment in the president.
