The Executive Director of Your Procurement Eye, Emmanuel Tetteh Mensah wants those in charge of procurement at the ministry of health to be held responsible for the shortage of vaccines across the country.
Several parts of the country have been hit with a shortage of vaccines in the last few months despite claims by the National Health Insurance Authority that over GH¢70 million has been released for the procurement of the vaccines.
Vaccines for diseases such as measles, polio, and tuberculosis have been scarce in hospitals.
The minority in parliament has been criticizing the government over its handling of the shortage of the vaccine. They say the health minister has been sleeping on the job.
Speaking to Accra-based radio station, Hot FM, the Executive Director of Your Procurement Eye, Emmanuel Tetteh Mensah stated that the technical people must be held responsible even though it is the health minister that heads the institution.
