Member of Parliament, MP, for Ashiaman constituency, Ernest Norgbey has appealed to the Military High Command to withdraw their men from the community following reports of assault administered to residents of Ashaiman by some military personnel.
Some soldiers reportedly invaded Ashaiman, a suburb of Accra in the Greater Accra region, and dehumanized residents in the area over the death of their colleague.
On the account of an eyewitness, over 20 armed soldiers stormed the area and started attacking residents, preventing them from even stepping out of their homes.
Ernest Norgbey says his constituents are peace-loving people who for the past 6 years have remained calm and going about their businesses.
He also mentioned that there has not been any incident of robbery or killing and that what happened over the weekend resulting in the death of the soldier was an isolated one.
