CLOGSAG wants the Presidential Office Act nullified

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has described the Presidential Office Act, 1993 (Act 463) as unconstitutional as it paves way for the government to appoint unqualified persons to facilitate the work of the office.
According to the Association, the Act which directs the recruitment of staff to work in the Office of the President and Vice President allows nepotism which undermines the functions of the office.
CLOGSAG says people who are appointed to the office of the president and the vice are usually party faithful who do not know anything about the office and how it should be run.
Speaking at a press conference here in Accra, the Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG, Dr. Isaac Bampoe Addo stressed the need for the government to initiate steps that will rescind the existing law and begin the recruitment of public officers to perform the functions of the office.
