Former President John Dramani Mahama says he is the best person to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) into the next general election.
According to Mahama, the current state of the country is at its worst level and for that matter, the party cannot present a candidate who is incapable of confronting these challenges head-on.
He said “Ghana at this time does not need a ‘try-me-too-leader,” as he officially declared himself the best candidate to lead the NDC into Election 2024.
He stressed that “Ghana needs a leader who accepts responsibility and is willing to work harder to fix the problems and not the one who shifts blame unto others.”
He made these comments during the launch of his flagbearership campaign themed ‘Building The Ghana We Want Together.’
Mahama joins former Finance Minister, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, former Mayor of Kumasi, Kojo Bonsu and businessman, Ernest Kwaku Krobea as personalities who are in the running to be elected as the NDC’s flagbearer into the 2024 election.
Addressing party members in Ho, John Mahama explained that the Akufo-Addo-led government has lost the trust of Ghanaians due to its economic mismanagement resulting from its incompetent nature, inefficient leadership and general non-performance.
