The Pensioners Bondholders Forum has called on government to initiate more social programmes to help the aged in society.

According to them both developed and developing countries, older people face an array of vulnerability which the government has the sole responsibility to role out programmes to cushion them.

At a press conference in Accra today, lead convenor for the Pensioners Bondholders Forum, Dr. Adu Antwi Anane called on government to review some of its expenditures and bring the levels down to create fiscal space to meet it’s dept obligation always due to the economic circumstances of the country.

Dr Adu A. Antwi noted that the exemption of the individual Bondholders from the DDEP will help increase investor confidence making the bond and treasury bills more valuable to the investor.

The forum thanked the general public for their support during their 8 days picketing for ensuring that individual Bondholders are exempted from the domestic debt exchange programme (DDEP).
